The Department of Aquatic Resources Management (MSP), Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences (FPIK), IPB University continues to strengthen its international engagement through strategic academic collaborations with leading universities worldwide. One of its notable partnerships is with the Oxford University, one of the world’s most prestigious universities, which has significantly contributed to advancing higher education, research, and capacity building in the field of coastal and marine resource management.

The collaboration between the Coastal and Marine Resource Management (SPL) Study Program, Department of Aquatic Resources Management, FPIK IPB University, and the Oxford University has successfully supported the completion of several Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degrees. This achievement reflects the strong academic relationship established between the two institutions and demonstrates their shared commitment to fostering excellence in postgraduate education through international cooperation.

A key element of this collaboration is the joint supervision provided by distinguished academics from both universities. Doctoral candidates were supervised by Dr. Hollie from the University of Oxford together with Prof. Luky Adrianto, Prof. Ario Damar, and Prof. Taryono from the Department of Aquatic Resources Management, IPB University. Through this collaborative supervision model, students benefited from multidisciplinary expertise, international academic perspectives, and high-quality research guidance throughout their doctoral studies.

Beyond supporting individual academic achievements, this collaboration has also strengthened research networks between Indonesia and the United Kingdom. It has created opportunities for scientific knowledge exchange, enhanced institutional partnerships, and promoted collaborative research addressing global challenges in coastal and marine ecosystems, sustainable resource management, and the blue economy.
